Lyndhurst Middle School offers two choral ensembles for students to participate in. The LMS Choir is a graded ensemble open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. The choir meets each day as an ensemble. In addition, every student will be placed in a pull-out lesson group that will meet once a week during the school day. Students who choose to be a part of this ensemble will receive a grade for their work. This ensemble will perform at least two concerts over the course of the school year: A Winter Concert as well as a Spring Concert.

The LMS Chorale is an auditioned ensemble open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade who are ALSO members of the Lyndhurst Middle School Choir. This is an entrance-by-audition honors choral music ensemble. Students who are interested in being a part of this ensemble will be required to perform an audition for both Mr. Lang and another member of the Music Department faculty. Auditions will be held in the first few weeks of the school year. The requirements for this audition will be communicated to interested students. Students who are accepted into the ensemble will rehearse once a week after school. Entrance into this ensemble is a privilege, not a right; to maintain your position in the Lyndhurst Middle School Chorale, you must be present at all rehearsals and learn your music in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in your removal from the ensemble. This ensemble will perform at least two concerts over the course of the school year: A Winter Concert as well as a Spring Concert.
